Tom’s route into the visual arts all started when he won a 1 megapixel camera in a local competition aged 12, while growing up in rural Cumbria. This was the start of Tom challenging himself to make the mundane interesting and bring new perspectives onto ordinary things. He started a freelance career whilst at University in Brighton as a nightclub photographer, and quickly moved on to making music videos, shooting big events and promotional content. After University he spent 4 years at Popkorn, an independent TV/Branded Content production company as the in-house cameraman, travelling around the world to shoot for them.
Tom has always loved the effect of timelapse and has found the popularity and demand for it explode since early 2017, when he released his video ‘Hyperlapse: London’. He now specialises in providing hyperlapse for TV and online content, and loves the process and payoff that this niche technique brings.
