Mori entered the world of film through production, learning the craft at a leading advertising agency producing ads for the likes of BMW and Sport England before moving horizontally to start directing, which he feels was always where he’d end up considering he was making films featuring only his dog at the age of 10.
Mori boasts an interesting body of work having shot big budget commercials for the likes of Kleenex in Cape Town down to music videos with next to no budget for unknown bands. Never shy to tackle big themes his first directorial outing, Dinosaur, examined loneliness in the elderly and euthanasia and was based on his own grandparents suicide and garnered some success on the UK festival circuit.
Mori continued pursuing films with meaning, shooting commercials for the Big Issue, Guide Dogs and Sport England amongst others and having also shot with the police one of Mori’s strengths is getting the best performances out of non-actors and actors alike. Mori has also shot 5 music videos where he likes to express himself more experimentally, honing his directing, learning new techniques and skills. He likes to build strong relationships with anyone he works with, both in front of, and behind the camera and his sets are known for their positive atmosphere.
